Putting an LLM assistant to work without leaking your data

Assistants that answer questions from your own documents are useful from day one. Keeping them safe takes a few decisions up front.

Trivick editorial team

An assistant that answers questions from your own policies, contracts or manuals can save hours a week. The risk is not the model itself, but what it can see and who can ask it.

Four decisions to make first

  • Where the model runs, and whether your data may leave your environment
  • Which documents it may read, per user, following the permissions you already have
  • What it must never answer, and how you will test that
  • Who reviews its answers where a mistake would matter

Get those right and the rest is engineering. Get them wrong and even a good model becomes a new way to find things people were never meant to see.
